‘tween 8th and 9th on Franklin is what those in know call a “banh mi joint.” For me, they’re Vietnamese sub sandwiches. Spicy meat, great veggies, fresh baguettes. No-one’s ever told me, but it strikes me as a peculiarly French twist on local food.
Whatever the origin, they’re great!
Visually – it’s a nothing of a place. It’s open 7 am to 7 pm, service is quick and friendly—and these banh mi are about $2.25. There’s some incredible deal of buy-5-get-the-6th-free but I’ve never bothered to ask more about it. Parking is predictably challenging.
